Cacao beans contain around 50% fat, this fat is pressed from the beans creating both cacao butter and cacao powder. Our cacao butter is pressed from single-origin, heirloom Arriba Criollo cacao beans harvested in Ecuador. It is extracted using a low temperature extraction press to maintain nutrient integrity and processed without solvents or deodorization so you can enjoy and benefit from the rich, chocolatey aroma of this beautifying and exquisite fat.
Cacao butter magically melts at body temperature and it this property that gives chocolate its luxurious mouth-feel.

"White" cacao butter
I LOVE this butter! It is great for elixirs and smoothies as well as desserts, but I also keep a chunk in the bathroom as it makes the BEST EVER body, face and hand cream! I hold it against my skin until it warms and then it soothes our skin in the dry winters!
