Making Traditional Cheese at Home
with Dawn Kay of Early Dawn Farms
Saturday, August 13th
12:00 - 4:00pm
At Early Dawn Farms, Water Valley, AB
Learn to make cheese using natural and traditional methods!
Join us for a field day to a real working goat milk dairy and cheese maker in the foothills of Alberta to learn how to make your very own cheese from scratch.
In this class, you will learn about the importance of starting with good quality milk, see and taste the difference between traditional and modern cheese making methods and become confident and inspired with the known-how to create delicious natural cheeses from simple, at home recipes.
You will learn how to create what is known as a Lactic Cheese and you will see its creation from start to finish including the different stages of culture, draining, and preserving.
There will be a second cheese making style taught as well and you will be taken through each step as an introduction in to how a wheel of cheese is actually made!
This course promises to delight your taste buds, fascinate your inquiring mind and empower you with practical, nourishing skills that will last a lifetime.
The class size is very small and limited to only just 8 people as the goal is to create as much hands-on experience as possible.
Handouts and a portion of the two cheeses made in class will go home with you.
Register now to learn how to become your own cheesemaker!
