Herbal Tinctures: Learn to make your own

Tinctures are alcohol-based extracts made from fresh or dried plant material. They provide convenient highly effective medicine that has a long shelf life. Tinctures can be taken by anyone who is able to consume alcohol and are safe for children. Making your own tinctures empowers you to create your own medicine, is a fun hobby, and saves you money. This online class will provide you with a live demonstration of tincture making where you can ask questions about the process. You will also receive handouts with resources, recipes, and formulas to help you make your own high-quality tinctures.

- Fresh vs. dry plant tinctures
- Calculating herb/ alcohol ratios
- Different alcohol percentages for efficient extraction
- Simple techniques for processing and straining plant material
- Alternative non-alcohol extraction mediums
- Dosage and safety
About the instructor:
Latifa Pelletier-Ahmed of Latifa's Herbs and ALCLA Native Plants is a medical herbalist, botanist and educator. She holds an MSc in Herbal Medicine from London, UK.
