Get ready for a morning of foraging for wild foods and medicine in the fields & forest of our!
This is an opportunity for a guided exploration of the edible and medicinal native wild plants and fungi that grow abundantly in the mountains, foothills and forests near Calgary.
During our session together you will learn about:
- Identification of the plant and mushroom species that provide delicious edible flavours & medicinal benefits.
- Sustainable harvesting techniques to guarantee the survival of these wild species.
- In-depth information related to the nutritional & healing properties of the plants.
- Insight into how each plant can be prepared, stored and used.
You will be foraging during our time together for particular species that are in season and in abundance in the area we visit.
Class size is limited to maintain an intimacy of learning and minimize our impact on the ecosystem.
