**When Shipping Hydrosols in the winter months, we have noticed freezing temperatures have caused shattering of the bottles. Please be aware of this when choosing to ship in winter. If in Calgary, we suggest using our Local delivery or pick-up options to avoid freezing the product! 

Star Anise is a well-known source of Shikimic acid. Most of the star anise produced in the world is to extract this compound and used in medications to treat flu symptoms.

In addition to an incredibly distinct and delicious flavour, it is said to be anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antioxidant, as well as beneficial for heart and blood sugar balance.

Traditional Chinese medicine has used the star anise plant for centuries for a variety of ailments. In folk remedy, star anise has been used for constipation, breath freshening, joint aches, muscle spasms, sleep and toothaches.



All our house-made hydrosols are produced by distilling vibrant plant materials into therapeutic and aromatic waters. This product has a sharp, sweet aroma with notes of licorice.
During the distillation, we do not separate the essential oils from the final product, so our hydrosol contains the full potency of the plant and is extremely  aromatic. All of our hydrosols are true hydrosols that result from the long and slow traditional distillation process using an alembic copper distiller from Portugal that is lead-free.

Internal use: Enjoy by the drop and/or use 1 tsp - 1 Tbsp per serving. Add to water, teas, Elixirs, soups, smoothies, sauces, or juice.

External use: Can spray into rooms to freshen the air.
