Have you ever wanted to learn about the edible and medicinal fungi species that grow in and around Calgary?

This fungi foray will lead you into the forest to discover a number of local species that you can safely and confidently identify and forage.

Some of the species we might see include: Puffballs, Honey mushroom, Saffron milk cap, Aspen bolete, Herecium (coral tooth mushroom), Hedgehog, red-belted polypore, Amanita, and more. There are no guarantees of which species we will see, but so far the season has been excellent with many choice edibles and some medicinals popping up at this time of year.

We will also include a discussion around some of the edible and medicinal plants of the area as well.

Details about the location and what to bring will be sent to those registered. We will meet on location and be either on private land or in an area where each of us can forage.
