Although best known as a flavourful, versatile culinary herb, thyme has been recognized for its medicinal properties since ancient times. Traditionally, used to ease sore throats and respiratory problems and support healthy skin due to its natural antiseptic quality.
Delicious as a seasoning for grilled or roasted meat, fish or potatoes. Combines well with lemon and olive oil, and other herbs, especially oregano and mint. To substitute for fresh thyme, use approximately 1/3 of the amount of fresh thyme in any recipe.
Traditionally grown and handpicked on Mount Olympus. Sweet, earthy, floral, minty flavour.
To make a medicinal tea, steep 1 teaspoon of dried thyme per cup of water for 5-10 minutes, or to taste.
