Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a medicinal mushroom that grows on birch trees in the northern hemisphere. Known as the ‘King of Mushrooms’, Chaga stimulates and supports the health of the immune system, helping wounds heal and effectively reducing the severity of allergies. It is also rich in many vitamins and minerals including B-complex vitamins, vitamin D, potassium, iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium to name a few. An incredible source of antioxidants, and serious research is being done on the cancer fighting properties of this super mushroom. Chaga may also help regulate the production of cytokines - proteins that play a vital role in stimulating white blood cells, preparing the immune system to fight off illness. Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) was traditionally used to reduce fatigue and boost strength and sex drive. Not only is this mushroom full of antioxidants and is believed to have anti-aging properties. Research suggests that Cordyceps may actually have the potential to treat cancer, as well as some side effects of cancer treatments. This medicinal mushroom can also help balance blood sugar levels, an important factor in type 2 diabetes. It also contains adenosine, which is a naturally occurring compound that has heart-protective effects.
Research has shown that when human cells are exposed to Cordyceps, special proteins that increase inflammation in the body become suppressed. This makes cordyceps an excellent medicinal mushroom to help with asthma and many other inflammatory illnesses.

This means that Lion’s mane may have the potential to boost mental functions, including memory, alleviating mild symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as speed up recovery of nervous system injuries. Research shows that lion’s mane mushrooms contain powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds that may help reduce the impact of many illnesses including heart disease, cancer and autoimmune disorders, as well as stress related symptoms.
