Fomes means "tinder," "to burn," or "to heat up," as in "foment." Amadou is derived from French, meaning "amorous."
Tinder Conk Mushrooms have been used for about 5,000 years and have lots of amazing health benefits, including lowering blood pressure and blood sugar, increasing circulation, enhancing immunity, and are great for urinary bladder problems. Some people have used it as a great laxative and for arthritis. It is also known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties.
Amadou Tinder Conk mushroom is also wonderfully rich in compounds similar to those of turkey tail (Trametes versicolor), including polysaccharide-K, a protein-bound polysaccharide.
