Codonopsis pilosula
Commonly referred to as "poor man's ginseng" Codonopsis is referred to as dang shen in Traditional Chinese Medicine, where it's considered a gentle qi herb. Native to Asia, Codonopsis pilosula has twining stems with bell-shaped flowers and carrot-shaped roots. Codonpsis root is typically prepared as a decoction or extract.
Tea decoction: Add 1-2 tsp per cup water. Boil 15-30 min. Strain. Can make a tincture.
