Elderberries

Elderberries - Sambucus nigra - Raw - Organic - Croatia 

Used for centuries as both a food and medicine, the elder plant has often been referred to as "the medicine chest of the common people". A fairy tale tells of a boy whose cold is healed by the Elder mother who comes out of a pot of her namesake tea. 

Instructions: Enjoy as a simple tea, or use to make a delicious nourishing syrup that can be enjoyed by the spoonful during the cooler months or used to top breakfasts or desserts.

To Make A Tea: 1 Tbsp to 1 cup water. Bring to boil, simmer 10-15 min. Or use to make a syrup. Add berries to teas, jams, pies, and other baking. Popular as a wine.
