Glycrrhiza glabra

Native to Europe and Asia, it is also know as sweet-root, referencing its Latin name and noteworthy alkaloid glycrrhizin, which is 50 times sweet than sugar. 

Tea: 1 tsp chopped root, or a 1 inch slice per cup of boiling water.

Cautions: Use in moderation. Avoid if pregnant or breastfeeding. Contraindicated for hypertension, liver disorders, edema, severe kidney insufficiency, low blood potassium, or heart disease.
