Root Beer Blend: Organic, Wild Harvested - Light Cellar

Story:

Our Light Cellar twist on root beer contains a blend of plants from which the original root beer recipes were derived, to create a soothing and nourishing beverage the whole family can enjoy. Once a staple American drink, root beer was made popular by an ingenious pharmacist, Charles Hire, in the early 1900’s. It was based on a traditional variety of drinks popular in settler communities made by brewing roots, herbs, barks, berries and spices and often fermenting this tea for a tasty, nutritive effervescent drink. Signature favours included sassafras and wintergreen, but also dandelion root, juniper, sarsaparilla, licorice, birch and wild cherry.

Instructions:

For a rich brew, use 2-3 Tbsp per 1 L water. Bring to a boil, simmer covered for 30 mins. To enhance flavour, add wintergreen tea leaves or 1 drop high-quality essential oil. Enjoy warm or chilled. Re-brew roots up to 3 times.
