Sumac Berry Powder: Raw Organic - Light Cellar
Sumac is used in everything from dry rubs, marinades, and dressings, it is delicious sprinkled over salads, on hummus, or rice. It is a widely used spice in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cooking and is the key ingredient in the spice blend Za-atar.
Dried raw sumac spice is purplish-brown with a gritty texture and tastes tart and acidic, but less so than lemon.
As Sumac ranks high on the ORAC chart it is packed with antioxidants and is believed to be a powerful anti-inflammatory spice.
2 Tbsp toasted Sesame Seed
1-2 Tbsp of ground Sumac berry
1 Tbsp each of ground cumin and ground Coriander
1 Tbsp each of ground Thyme, Oregano, and Marjoram
Combine all in a blender or use mortar & pestle and add salt and pepper to taste
