A symbol of peace, purity, and a connection to Mother Earth, famed for its cleansing properties and a unique vanilla-like scent. Made with wild-harvested sweetgrass braids from an indigenous community in Northern Manitoba, Anishinabe-aki. 

This hydrosol will allow you all the benefits of a smudge but without the smoke and burning of the grass.

All of our hydrosols are produced in-house by distilling organic or wild-crafted fresh and dried plant materials into therapeutic and aromatic waters.
All of the hydrosols that we make are true hydrosols that result from the long and slow traditional distillation process using an alembic copper distiller from Portugal that is lead-free.
To craft them, we combine our water and our chosen plant material in the base of the Alembic still and bring them to a simmer to create steam. As this steam rises it passes through more plant material in the next chamber further extracting more plant compounds as well as essential oils. The steam then passes through a spiral coil immersed in ice, which cools the vapors down and they condense to water creating a hydrosol - a solution of plant chemistry now dissolved and integrated into water.

Hydrosols are incredibly aromatic and contain many of the very same therapeutic properties as the corresponding plant and its essential oil. And because they are water-based, you don’t need to dilute them any further and they can be safely added to your food and drinks or used on your face and hair. This methodology provides a solid middle ground since it's significantly more effective than an herbal tea while still being gentler than an essential oil.
