Vitex: Organic- The Light Cellar
Story:
Vitex, known as the 'woman's herb' is a tree native to Asia and the Mediterranean, where its medicinal use dates back to the time of Hippocrates. Also called Chasteberry, a name which derives from an old, unproven belief that it could suppress libido in monks and also in women while their husbands were away at battle. The berry has a peppery flavour.
Tea: Infuse 1 tsp per cup boiling water. Steep 8-10 min. For a peppery taste, crack the berries and sprinkle on food.
