Greek Oregano has grown wild on the mountains of Greece for thousands of years. Prized for both culinary and medicinal uses, mineral rich Greek oregano contains more of two medicinal compounds in particular- carvacol and thymol, than other varieties. These compounds not only contribute to the unique and intense flavour profile of Greek oregano, but they also contain well-known antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Our Greek oregano is wild harvested by hand, gathered and sundried using traditional methods on Mount Olympus.
Crush ground oregano with your fingertips to release volatile oils, fragrance and flavour. Sprinkle generously on Greek salads, roast potatoes, grilled and roasted meat and any Mediterranean inspired dishes.
Oregano can also be consumed as a tea to help relieve symptoms related to sore throats, nausea and inflammation. Steep 2 teaspoons of dried oregano in a cup of near boiling water for 2-4 minutes, strain and sip.
