Learn the basics of canning practices to safely and confidently preserve your favourite foods. This course covers the foundations and does not go into steam or pressure canning.
In this introduction to canning demonstration, you will understand the risks involved in canning, how ensure you are following safe practices, canning methods, how to adjust for altitude, common terminology, what equipment is needed and more.

A true homesteader at heart, Jen is dedicated to living a sustainable lifestyle. She enjoys preserving and canning, making her own body care products, creating fermented foods, baking bread, and exploring all aspects of homesteading. Her love for healthy living extends to everything from improving recipes to making them more nutritious, to embracing practices like hot yoga to strengthen the mind-body connection.
Jen's background in teaching personal growth, volunteer management, and sales & service has now evolved into her passion for teaching homesteading practices. She draws on her experience to mentor others, helping them develop practical skills for sustainable living while fostering personal growth along the way.
Her ultimate goal is to share her extensive knowledge of health, nutrition, and homesteading to inspire others to live their healthiest, most fulfilling lives. Whether she’s teaching new skills, sharing wisdom, or simply spending time with family, Jen is always on a path of growth—and invites others to join her along the way.
