Discover Holy CaCow's featured ingredients:

🍄 Cordyceps - Traditionally cordyceps were often cooked in a duck and consumed via a broth! It was so revered in China, that it was forbidden for use to those who lived outside of the Emperor’s palace. Studies have suggested that with continued use, cordyceps can improve oxygen use during exercise, by boosting the body’s production of ATP, which is essential for delivering energy to the muscles. Studies have also shown it stimulates testosterone production, and regulates blood sugar levels. Energetically, cordyceps may help with eliminating emotional toxicity, and works on strengthening and supporting the second chakra. Discover more on cordyceps from an earlier blog post here.

🐮 Collagen - Collagen supports the gut microbiome, is an anti-inflammatory, and is very rich in glycine, an amino acid crucial in phase II liver detoxification, that's often lacking in modern diets. Your joints and skin will be happy too, as they are supported by collagen.

🦴 Bone broth - Bone broth is rich in glutamine, and no part of the body is as hungry for glutamine as the gut, making it a powerful superfood for supporting the integrity and function of the mucousal barrier, particularly in the gut. Bone broth can also support the repair and elasticity of bones, tendons, cartilage and joints. It's also abundant in electrolytes which support intracellular signalling between the brain and nervous system, making it a powerful addition to your day!

🍄 Reishi - In Traditional Chinese medicine, Reishi is revered for its calming effect, boosting the immune system and supporting energy. Reishi was often consumed by monks prior to meditation to help settle the mind and drop into a deeper meditation.

🍮 Mesquite - Adds a caramely sweet flavour, and is packed full of vitamins and minerals, calcium and amino acids.

🕯Marshmallow with marshmallow root - These divine house made marshmallows are rich in amino acids from organic egg whites, and gut healing glycine from the gelatine. And marshmallow root is added to the marshmallows, a mucilaginous herb that can soothe the gut.

These superfoods are blended with heart-opening cacao, and even a touch of pro-biotic rich chickpea miso!

Boreal Brew

Drink the forest with the Boreal brew, a creamy vegan hot chocolate that’s inspired by botanicals from Northern Alberta’s Boreal forest.

Discover Boreal Brew's featured ingredients:

🌳 Birch syrup - This powerful syrup is rich in betulinic acid, which has been shown to inhibit cytokine production.

🍄 Chaga tea -  Chaga has a rich history in Folk Medicine, and has been widely used in Russia, Poland and Baltic countries. While growing on birch, it absorbs the betulin and betulinic acid from the tree bark. While some consider the Chaga to exist in a one-sided relationship with its host tree, Cree healers appreciated the power of the relationship between the Chaga and the Birch tree, believing that they mutually supported each other, and gave their full lives to each other. It's believed that energetically this relationship between the mushroom and the tree are infused into Chaga.

🌱 Labrador Hydrosol - Rich in immune boosting antioxidants, Labrador also offers soothing and calming properties to the boreal brew, and has been used traditionally to soothe sore throats.

🌲Spruce tips - Abundant in Vitamin C, and contains anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties, spruce tips are also rich in crucial minerals like magnesium and potassium.

❣️Rose Hip - Rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins, studies show that rose hips are especially supportive for those who experience osteoarthritic pain.

These incredible Boreal botanicals are blended with rich maple syrup, 74% chaga maple chocolate, cacao powder and a pinch of salt!
