Hazelnuts

Hazelnuts - Corylus avellana - Raw - Organic - Canada 

Also called filberts, hazelnuts have been an important food source in the Northern hemisphere since the last ice age. This tree was believed to have mystical powers and was used for driving rods. Hazelnuts are mildly sweet, with toasted notes from the skin and have a unique nutrient profile. 

Instructions: Delicious raw or toasted. Use as a quick snack, add to trail mix, pie crusts, cookies or make nut butter or dairy milk. Make a flourless, traditional hazelnut cake or homemade chocolate hazelnut spread.
