Lemon & Lime Balm hydrosol
Hydro & Steam Distilled from locally grown Lemon and Lime Balm.
The botanical name for lemon balm, Melissa, comes from the Greek word meaning honeybee, and beekeepers in ancient times planted lemon balm around the hives to keep their sacred honeybees happy. Best known for its calming effects on emotional distress, this lovely aromatic hydrosol is also beneficial for general skin care and makes a soothing addition to body sprays.
Our lemon-lime balm hydrosol is mellow and slightly sweet, with a somewhat herbaceous and bitter note. Reminiscent of fresh greenery, this gentle hydrosol is a wonderful ingredient that will lend the supportive properties of lemon balm to teas (hot or cold), elixirs, lotions, and creams.
Lemon-Lime balm hydrosol benefits are moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, mildly antiseptic, and is a wonderfully fragrant addition to skincare. It’s said to boost the appearance of the skin and reduce the fine lines.
The wonderous character of this much-adored plant is present in this botanical water. Pairs fantastically with chamomile and lavender hydrosols for a sincerely relaxing concoction, or a splash added to your water, tea, or bath at the end of the day.
This Lemon-Lime balm hydrosol was crafted in-house via a hydro-steam distillation of the fresh Melissa officinalis using a copper alembic still.
Suitable for internal and topical, cosmetic use.
