For a brief window each spring, the male cones of spruce and pine trees release their pollen into the forest. We hand-harvest this seasonal abundance in Alberta and British Columbia and craft it in-house into a concentrated tincture.

Tree pollen has a long history of appreciation as both a food and herbal preparation. Pine pollen in particular has been used in Asian food and herbal traditions, where it has been associated with nourishment, vitality and rejuvenation.

Pollen is the male reproductive material of the tree and contains proteins and a diverse range of naturally occurring plant compounds. Today, pine pollen has found a following among herbalists, athletes and health enthusiasts interested in traditional foods and seasonal plant preparations.

Our Spruce & Pine Pollen Tincture brings together two familiar trees of the Canadian landscape, preserving their short-lived spring pollen harvest in a form that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Use: Shake well before using—a natural sediment of pollen may settle in the bottle. Take directly or add to water, juice, tea or an elixir according to the suggested serving.
