Both are believed to not only encourage hair growth but are said to improve and strengthen circulation which as a result, could prevent hair follicles from being starved of blood supply, dying off, and leading to hair loss.
Beyond stimulating hair growth, these oils have been used to prevent premature graying and dandruff. It may also help with dry or itchy scalp.
- Both peppermint and rosemary have anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties, and promote nerve growth.
A 2013 study with testosterone-related hair loss found that rosemary oil could regrow hair. Its authors theorize that rosemary oil might prevent DHT (dihydrotestosterone) from binding to hormone receptors that enable it to attack the hair follicles.
A 2015 study looked at rosemary oil for people with DHT-related hair loss and by 6 months saw significant increases in hair growth.
Some studies, including this one from 2017, have found that rosemary oil may kill some fungi and bacteria. So, when hair loss is due to an infection or an unhealthy scalp, rosemary and peppermint oil may help.
Ingredients: Certified Organic Olive oil, infused with fresh locally grown rosemary, organic peppermint essential oil, and rosemary essential oil.
How to use:
Apply a small amount to the scalp and massage it in with your fingers while avoiding contact with or near the eyes. Comb through to ends and leave in for at least 30mins or overnight with a covering, and either shampoo out or style-in as desired.
